As I’ve mentioned to the Humphrey Calder gardeners, blogging is not my strength. I will try to keep this updated with garden happenings.
The City of Richmond is holding a sustainability meeting on Thursday, June 9 at the Carillon in Byrd Park starting at 6pm. I plan on going–hope to see some gardeners there! Here’s the link for more information: www.richmondgov.com/sustainabilityplan
Here are pictures from our April Garden Work Day. Thanks to Andrew Reed for taking them:)
The garden’s first ever outdoor movie night was a huge success! Last night, about 20 people from the garden, neighborhood, Ellwood Thompson’s Local Market, and Tricycle Gardens enjoyed a cool summer evening watching “The Goonies” in our picturesque garden. Check out the natural market’s website for pictures. I’ll post a few photos in the coming days. Hope to see you on August 14th for an outdoor viewing of “E.T.”!
Join us for outdoor movie nights in the garden! No need to RSVP for this FREE family friendly event. Refreshments will be available and proceeds will benefit the garden. No rain dates have been set. Spread the word! Don’t forget to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. Hope to see you there.

Thank you to all who helped at the garden’s spring workday. What a beautiful day to get dirty! We had a wonderful turnout of volunteers, plot owners and neighbors. Lots of projects were accomplished including landscaping, sealing the fence and tackling the compost. Ellwood Thompson Natural Market made tasty wraps for all volunteers to enjoy too! Enjoy the pictures!
