10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Humphrey Calder Community
Garden
414 N. Thompson St.
(corner of Patterson & Thompson)
$10 donation requested;

Compost is the essential component to a healthy, organic garden. It provides plants with nutrients, retains water, prevents erosion, and reduces waste.
This workshop will cover the basics of how compost is made and what easy, affordable materials are needed to create a healthy compost pile. After this workshop, you will know how to grow your own compost crops, build a healthy compost pile from kitchen scraps and yard waste, have a worm bin and even start a composting program at your place of work or in your community.

Here are some photos taken on this past saturday’s work day. Three hundred large metal cans (donated by Ukrops) were cleaned, tops/bottoms removed, flattened and are getting nailed to the shed for the siding material. A three bin compost was built and the raised/childrens beds were constructed. We are still collecting bricks for the gathering patio in the center (if you have any to donate, please do!)
Thanks to everyone who came to help!

Please come support the Humphrey Calder Community Garden on Saturday June 13th as garden volunteers bag and carry ET’s shoppers groceries as an oppurtunity to raise money for the next stages of the community garden!
ET’s offers this oppurtunity to non profit organizations a couple times a year to allow for them to raise some money while spreading the word about their organization and chat with community members!
So please come do your grocery shopping at ET’s on June 13th and 5% of that days sales will generously be donated to the Humphrey Calder Community Garden!
